Poll on New Updates

Hello. I think this update is very bad. I have played for a long time and i have never spend money on the game. Now it seems like that they need to have everyone to spend money in game. The part that pissed me off the most is the new look. I can’t see the point. I’m not going to leave just jet, but if it becomes too much pain for me I might do it. They should take things a bit slower and test things first so we don’t get ghost numbers or anything that might tip us over the edge. 

• The update is bad, like awfully bad
• I've been playing since the game came out and haven't paid a cent because the prices are a joke (like 20€ for a 20% chance of getting a few shards .. go suck a lemon); so I'm not that affected by the lose of omicrons; what bothers me lots is the visual attack of those "quests" and whatnot using almost all the left half of the screen. Whoever designed this and whoever approved the design have no place in mobile gaming.

• Because I have the patience for endless grinding, I'm just 70 shards to get commander Ahsoka and just on the last phase for Lord Vader, which I guess it'll take me about three months 
• Again this is the ugliest the game has been, the amount of p2w is embarrassing, the messages filling my screen are a bother and I keep having the red "3+" on my home icon even though there's nothing there

It looks like some MBA with contacts but zero knowledge and experience signed the changes just to prove he did something, uncaring about the players experience with the game.

Sadly, nothing new when EA is a part of.

Going to do my best to provide objective answers in the hopes that this gets fixed. 10.5M GP account, occasional LSB spend.

1. Do you think this update is good overall, bad overall, or a blend? Firmly Bad overall. 
2. For you, what aspects are good and what aspects are bad?
   1. Bad: This is worst kind of battle pass, that is built to deny rewards if you aren't able to participate daily, while not adding any new or novel incentives. There is literally nothing exciting on the track, just things I previously earned.
   2. Horrible: Character quests. They make it literally feel like I can't play the game because of the shard lock. Really, really disappointing and bad design. I would be happy completing the quests for little to no episode rewards to get a chance to better interact with the new marquee and clear them out because I like actually playing the game. Please give players some credit that they actually want to play your game. 10 extra marquee shards at the end would be an awesome reward for chasing all of the quests.
   3. Awful: GC Feats. Why did half of these get walled off? I'll say it again. Let players play the game. Make the pass enhance rewards, not block content. Absolutely terrible design decision.
   4. Awesome: The menus and revised objectives are actually great. I'm so sorry to those at CG that worked on them that had no decision making authority about everything else that got baked in. I'm hearing it all over the place that players love the refresh, but the monetization and feel bad aspect of content being walled off is incredibly overwhelming.
   5. To be seen: It's going to be economically equivalent. But it shifted the time investment from once every 3 days to daily. This is a QOL downgrade as things stand. Maybe it'll be as promised and actually lower it? But it's not promising right now.
3. Are you considering leaving this game due to this update? Not immediately, I'll see how the next month goes and if CG makes an effort to respond to the community.
4. Why or why not? I'm not going to continue for long feeling like there are huge parts of the game walled off, which is what the character quest section and GC section feels like. I really hate that unlock button.
5. Any additional thoughts or comparisons with previous updates? There is no comparison within SWGOH for this update. Pay to win is the accepted model, that's fine. I don't have an issue with that. This update as it stands has transitioned the game into firmly pay to earn, but the hamfisted approach makes it feel like its pay to play with parts of the game walled off. 

In my opinion it's a horrible update is 

1)awful. 

2) I hate everything about it so far. The new GC challenges being paywalled for half. Taking the easiest one for a f2p account to beat and locking it behind 20 dollars each month. I don't like their wording and how it looks. "Should be able to do it without spending money." Does that mean spend over 10k+crystals for marquee packs? As of the first GC I will not be able to max both feats. I can barely beat any with my rebel fighters. Can't seem to get the 400 percent turn meter with any team.

4) attached to my guild and the game it used to be. 

5) if you're gonna pay wall feats on GC the free ones absolutely should almost be always able to complete on max or tier before max. 

There’s actually a few good features in this update, but it’s bad.

They cut the dailies in half and paywalled the GC rewards. Even if I do get the rss from other places, you eliminated the sense of accomplishment and emotional rewards from those. Everything has become sterile. For the players that don’t keep a spreadsheet of their results, it’s dull.

I’m quickly losing interest. Boring games can’t survive.

2. Confusing layout.... Though if new it wouldn't matter..... Everything is tied to a paywall.   The grind was ridiculous as it was, much less half the rewards that we used to get.
3. Yes on leaving.  I'll give it a week or two, but unless the removes the paywalls that were added to basic content, no since in staying.
4. If the game isn't fun with the increased grind anymore then why stay.   It would be different if it was one some new great gear.    But 20-30 bucks for an episode pass, or having to have it just to get GC missions done is just greedy 
5. I knew this was an EA game when I first started playing a few years ago, but EA finally put their stamp on this game..... Gives some serious BF2 vibes.  I really don't see how the marketing dept or whoever made these decisions saw a positive return on this update.

The updates are bad. In 8 years playing, I've never been closer to quitting. Not even during the months long glitches where we couldn't play gac without our battles freezing for like 4 months straight. They feel like toxic attempts to force us to spend and to minimize the experience of free to play players. Everything they've done since the Punishing One dropped has felt like they're doing everything in their power to grow the gap between whales and free go play or low amount spenders. I'm to a point where I'm struggling to open the app. All it does is make me annoyed. I have better things to do with my time than be pissed off at a mobile game. Better games to play. Better places to spend my money. 

It is a disgrace that I cannot use my GLs in the new GCs because of these feats. I think it is a nice idea to have a level of extra rewards connected to the featured toon, but not at the cost of feats. I don't have teams that can remove 400% tm, but I have a GL. These new feats make no sense.

• Do you think this update is good overall, bad overall, or a blend? 

I see only two positive things that came out of this update: Less daily tasks, and better rewards for completing the daily tasks. Overall though, more bad was delivered, specifically to F2P and dolphin players, which are the majority. The game is slowly turning into State of Survival and the new Ages of Empire mobile. Where if you aren't paying, you're going to have an extremely difficult time competing. Certainly heading towards being a backseat participant.

• Are you considering leaving this game due to this update? 

Not going to leave, yet, but if CG continues to implement stronger PTP/PTW elements, making the game less and less enjoyable, then yes, I would strongly consider leaving the game, again. The game is still enjoyable, in general, but I do feel there are many areas that should be corrected or addressed. These would be the broken GAC match-ups, removal of the unfavorable 3x3, and either removal or complete redesign of datacrons, which I feel was the last big negative PTW update. 

• Any additional thoughts or comparisons with previous updates? 

As more and more PTP/PTW walls appear, it'll continue to incite negative feelings about the game. Eventually it'll end up like the failure of LOTR heroes of middle earth. Especially in this age of more and more games being added to the stores where you can compete without PTP/PTW elements.

I've been playing since day #1 and this update with the paywall is ridiculous and sad. I should look into selling my account (?). What a waste.
