I imagine with all of the following in place:
- full platoons
- good modding (protection primaries, no health mods and correct turn order for 7s, 5b, GI)
- the correct opening strategy (no AoEs until using GI’s 2nd special on a Jawa with 6 stacks of Purge to gain tenacity up, then eliminating scavenger asap)
The difference between using 8b and 2s will be negligible.
Very possible.
Problem is that I only had 13 runs with 2S at the time, which is too few to make solid conclusions from.
While it's possible that as we get more runs we can calculate that 2S success approaches (or is indistinguishable from) *B success, but I suspect that if that's true, it will be only when you have all your Ops missions completed.
High end guilds are reporting success rates much higher than mid-range guilds (or me -- I have now streamed 67 runs with 3 fails while more than one guild hit 50/50 and one guild I know hit 49/50 but the loss was a blue stacks crash).
I think some people are quick to dismiss Ops missions and mods as factors, because in the easier half of runs they don't actually matter. But when I had 4 stuns, my mods absolutely mattered -- as did my guild's perfect Ops missions.
How many of those more dangerous runs with fewer Ops missions will a less well modded squad be able to overcome? Obviously we're all still learning this mission and maybe I could have an even better win rate than 64/67 in the future, but as long as I working with all comers, I think it's unlikely to get too much better than that, and when runs go nasty, I would rather have 8B than 2S.
