The problem with that type of squad is it seems really only good for defensively holding a rank, but not for moving up.
After reading the various post about the armor increase, I did some experimentation today with creating this type of squad. I loaded up B2, Sun Fac, RG, and Phas with 5* defensive mods (long story why I had a bunch of those leveled up...just say I didn't understand defense, and still don't) with protection on arrow, cross, and circle. At lead, I had Ben, loaded with health mods and protection. Long story short, I played 2 long, boring matches that ended in draws against top 10 teams.
It stands to reason that had anyone attacked that team without some seriously high DPS, the match would have run the full 5 minutes. Problem is, there just isn't enough DPS in a tanky team like that to take out a typical Ben/Rey/RG/QGJ/STH type team.
Obviously this is a pretty small sample to compare against, and since there are no droid teams in the top 10 on my shard, I couldn't test against them, so YMMV.
So win with a different team, and then swap it out?
