I'm not that person, but call me entitled, because I think, "I have ALL the GLs, this should be easy for me," is a reasonable position. At least one GL should walk over each PG battle like it was standing still.
That's how I think about it anyway. Having all the GLs is -- in my mind, I realize this has never been explicitly promised -- supposed to make it so that there's always an easy button in PvE. When they release a new GL, they can also come up with a challenge that frustrates all the GLs available up to that point so you need the new one to have an easy button. The more GLs we get, the more difficult that is, but that, too, makes the "if you have all the GLs, there's an easy button for every PvE battle" kind of implied.
The only place that isn't implied is the Assault Battles, since in those you may not be able to use any GLs, and even if you can, the whole point is to be a challenge for a specific faction or two, so making the GL an easy button doesn't make sense.
Anyway, that's my 2 cents. I realize that PG doesn't operate on this principle, though I do think it should.
I could be wrong, it's been a while but I believe I did the majority of the PG battles with GL, the exceptions being Tie/Int and Malgus....
I appreciate your candor but, by that same logic, nothing non-GL should be able to beat a GL.... That would make for an extremely boring game and some pretty crummy GAC match-ups...
I like OP's idea of being able to battle it even after you have the character unlocked or even being able to battle multiple times during one event for no rewards to improve your star count.... For me, some of the most fun I have had in the game has been testing weird comps in battles and raids with others in my guild and the community trying to do better / improve scores etc.
To be fairrrrr I don't know why they made some of the battles this difficult but they did and, quite frankly, I can't think of another game mode with this level of difficulty where you can't replay battles...
Maybe it's just me, but I miss the days when people used to come to the forums to share solutions, ask for help, brainstorm etc rather than just to complain about difficulty levels and cry foul....
It does still happen occasionally. Someone on here put the triple luke team for tie interceptor on here, which got me 3* and saved me the pain of doing it another 3 times.
But I have to agree with op and yourself, the difficulty spike on the last two PG’s means they really do need people theory crafting methods for those with less available options.
