QOL for TB: Let officers lock out specific platoons

See title

I coordinate TB for my guild, <100m GP, still on the Hoth rotation.

The last 3 TB's we've been getting unstuck because folks are deploying toons to platoons we can't complete. I put notes up on the missions specifying which platoons to focus, I put together phase notes calling it out in chat, just about everything I can short of naming and shaming to get focus on the right areas.

In spite of all that, I can't force people to read the notes, so the next best control is actually being able to visibly mark the platoons we should be ignoring, if not block them off entirely.

Inb4 "people should be able to play how they like"; I spend 10's of hours over the course of a TB planning, doing the math to work out star targets to maximise rewards for everyone, doing platoon assignments, typing up the strategy for which sectors and missions to hit and why.... I don't think it's too much to ask that guild officers in positions like mine have the ability to actually guide the outcome, rather than sending messages to the void and hoping people pay attention.

End rant
  • I agree. It's really frustrating when you have someone spending their time and energy on planning TB, then one member that's not paying attention can cause a rewrite of the entire strategy because they platooned a single unit they weren't supposed to. This is frustrating to officers and frustrating to the people that are paying attention and being careful.

People make mistakes - it happens - this doesn't always necessitate removing a person from the guild - but it's punitive to the folks that are taking on the thankless task of planning and managing the guild. The real challenge is getting people to put relics on characters they don't want to relic. Having additional points of failure is unnecessarily frustrating.

I honestly don't know how difficult this would be to put in place, but every time it comes up, I weigh in to support the suggestion because we need this.

It would also be really helpful to have a 24 hour review period after TB concludes so officers and guild leaders could compile a final accurate picture of every players contribution to the event. If I had to pick between these two suggestions though - please give us the ability to block specific squads in platoons.

  • Seconded. You always find people in guilds that will not read or forget and then accidentally do so.

Same goes for being able as an officer to actually block Platoons from being completed and also block deployement (not just visually). In RotE we prepare zones without actually taking a star by preparing Platoons 14/15 and stop deploying before the first star. There is always someone whom does not read it correctly or forgets it and worst case scenario is then that they get a star.
