Ah, Relic Delta. It was apocalyptic before it was released and after it was released? Not that big a deal. RD2 (R7 vs R9) is 10%.
The Era system basically turned out exactly as CG said at the beginning: most players are expected to reach Era level 65 and will gain the Era toons at G12 when they join the main roster. Sure, there are kinks to work out in the new system, but the doomsaying was, as usual, worse than reality.
Misfiring auto bans and the absolute mess CG has made of datacrons recently are bigger problems than RD ever was. RD ain't nothin'.
