Works for me! Chewie probably isn't the best example of what a wookie can do. He isnt designed to work with other wookies. A team with uniquely powered wookies would be a game changer to some degree.
As a species, it only make sense that in addition to their specials that they be naturally tanky. Every alien race in Star Wars has its base characteristics that are unique to the specifications of "only" that alien race, right?
