HAhahaha! That cycle is exactly what my friends would do when a new COD was released. I played COD online for 5 or 6 years when they were run by EA/Activision i believe.
COD? The classic example of gaming greed. The original COD was outstanding. It took the concepts pioneered by MOH and DOD and put them together into one of the best FPS game ever made (outside of Counter-Strike). COD2 was a worthy sequel that gave more content and different views of WW2. Then came COD3 and the console money grab; game quality sank as developers concentrated their efforts on the console kiddies. COD4 came along and modern warfare came with it. It was a great game and revitalized the series. Then COD basically abandoned PC by eliminating dedicated servers for MW2 release. That was when I departed. Now they just crank a new edition each year like every other company and get people to slap down $60 for a few new maps and character and weapon skins.
