First off, I'm still not a fan of the current state of rewards. I was hitting top 5, and regularly 1st in the old system for HSTR so I know I'm losing a lot of rewards.
But, one point that a lot of people seem to be missing is that CG never said that new rewards would be based on the equivalent of players receiving even top 10 rewards in HSTR, and there's precedent set with the simming of HPit and HAAT to show that was probably never their intention. The sim rewards for HAAT and HPit were the equivalent of 11-25th place (happy for someone to correct me if i'm wrong on that) so why would anyone assume the new rewards would account for 'simmed' HSTR rewards greater than 11th place.
CPit is another matter (particularly aeros), and their movement of rewards more to the start of the guild track has slightly improved that issue, but overall I'd be interested to know if at a guild level, compared to simmed HPit, HAAT, HSTR (as 11th place) and some kind of simmed CPit equivalent, the combined rewards of all 50 players are close to what was available before.
