The problem underlying all of this is having to make assumptions on the relative frequencies of drops of different sorts of gears from the chests. It’s unlikely that CG will ever release those stats as they could view it as IP. With that data it would be fairly simple to model crystal value of each gear type and therefore the boxes as a DRV.
It’s a fairly safe assumption that they weight towards ‘useless’ gear, but you’d need to know how weighted, because assuming they’re equally likely is naïve..
