so yeah, having an alt account in clash of clans also benefits the main acc.
iMod/xMod was/is common practise for years in clash of clans, agiants ToS, there is no doubt it is a cheat, still was condoned until recently. Farming bots have poped up the last year aswell, and until recently no one got banned for it. These are a great example, mainly the first 1, that freemium games dont ban their top spenders. its fair to say 90% of the top200 global players and clans cheated with iMod, they were aware of it, yet they didnt ban anyone.
but still supercell is a very effective freemium game developer. Maybe its they way they manage their playerbase.
You don't need to tell me about Clash - TH11, I've run clans, legend league, I've done enough.
If you truly do know anything about Clash then you know that alts give nowhere near the benefit that they are doing in this game (I have a TH9 I used for donations and wars). The few clans trying to use offense-only accounts to skew matchmaking were very easy to beat. A decent clan only needs some strong attackers in the top half capable of 3 starring their opposite number.
On top of that, clan wars in Clash are famous for giving pathetic rewards. Most clan wars ended up costing the players more building troops than they received as a reward.
Alts in Clash are expensive and contribute very little in terms of increasing the main account's progression. Anything you get from an alt, you can equally get from a clanmate.
The gear wall here is the single biggest issue restricting progress and creating an ever widening gap between those at the top and those at the bottom. The alt factory can double or treble the rate at which otherwise unobtainable gear is achieved. Non-exploiting players will feel the effect of this in the arena, in GW and on the leaderboard.
The suggestion still stands, based on Supercell's clan war model of locking players in. You didn't comment on it, and it was the central point.
