We perpetually have a few open spots in the guild. If I could easily swap in and out with some alt accounts, we would never have to wait for the last couple thousand coins.

True, and it's about a minute to sim your your 600. All in probably 5-7 minutes tops, per alt, maybe less honestly, and all free.
You are over simplifying it. Sim tickets cost crystals and 495 free energy is going to cost 50 crystals to get to 600. Paying for an alt account until you can make it viable in arena to cover crystal cost
daily rewards are more than 50 crystals. The only downside to a new account is that you have a low energy cap, so you have to login more often.
Sure, but if you can just swap within the app itself, who cares?
