Are you talking about damage immunity? Don't bring heavy turn meter removal teams or tm removal discs into fights where there's damage immunity or stacking protection. 

Being stunned is not relevant; a stunned unit filling their tm bar will still count as them taking a turn. The problem is you removing tm (or your own units gaining too much tm).
