I unlock new characters but have nowhere to use them.

I know other people have said this, but the game really needs some kind of mode to just play with characters with unlimited attempts. An actual sandbox mode would be great, but even just the old Galactic Challenge format was better than nothing. 

This has happened many times when I've unlocked a character I was excited about: I finally unlock them, gear and relic them up, put mods on . . . and then do nothing with them. 

This time, I'd put in the work to unlock Satele on day 1, and I can't use her in any real battle. 

GW is worthless once you're mid-game. (I'm 8 mil gp.) 
LS/Cantina Battles are almost as worthless. (Relic delta made the more so.)
Squad Arena is all GLs with top datacrons, so she's just going to die there. 
My guild is doing DS Geo TB this week, so I can't use her there. 
Conquest is over. 

So I'm just sitting here with a reliced Satele Shan and nowhere to use her. You're doing a great job of killing excitement and turning it into boredom.
