Relic Delta - questions and feedback

Firstly, to give credit I like how you have approached this by involving community voices and content creators etc. Regardless of the outcomes please keep doing this. It would be great to know what changes are made as a result of this process.

Full disclosure, I've only watched Ahnalds video and some of the threads on here so apologies if the answers to the following are already out there.

However I don't hate this idea and logically I can see the benefits DEPENDING on a few concerns being resolved.

My question are:

1. What is the power percentage difference for say 2 relic level differences? So if there's 95% for 4 relic differences, does this reduce significantly for 3,2,1 and what are those percentages. If there's say 50% difference between R7 and R9 then that's almost game over and inaccessible for nearly everyone not committed to spending massive amounts considering there is over 300 characters. 95% seems incredibly high either way but if there is no percentage difference for anything less then 4 relic level differences (i.e R6 vs R9) then I think that does protect the value of higher relics and therefore becomes a  digestable change.

 2. Does this mean no relic 10? As a non-linear method of progression, will we no longer be going to relic 10? Presumably this won't be indefinite but would great to know that this isn't on the cards in the near future. Committing to 2 years for example gives us the chance to start catching up.

3. How will you protect current rewards? Inevitably these changes will affect positions in GAC and push many players down. Will reward structures be changed to enable players currently able to compete in Kyber to get rewards at the same level. This could still see an increase in kyber rewards but ensures players are maintaining the levels of rewards they are currently get. Otherwise it pushes people further behind. For example players currently with access to the 2k crystals from the pirate event are given additional rewards for spending but it's not at the detriment of everyone else. That balance seems right and fair.

4. Will you fix TW matchmaking? Possibly the most crucial component to these changes is ensuring players are able to get the r9 materials. TW is so broken and frankly introducing new power progression without fixing this would be laughable. Constantly being matched up with guilds far superior drastically slows down the opportunity to invest in R9s that aren't requirements. These changes make the need for R9s significantly more important, so the materials need to be much more accessible or at the very least a chance to achieve these in a fair and viable way.

5. How does this work for teams with mixed relics? I'm sure this will become clear with more information but if I have a team of 4 R9s and 1 R5 character, is that dis/advantage limited to that one character or applied to the whole team?

6. Finally, will there be changes to make getting characters up to relic levels or a base relic level - (say R5)? With so many characters and more being released at a faster more consistent pace, falling behind feels easier then ever. Resources do not stretch far enough to keep up. The pain points to developing a character are a constant drain on resources. Kyro tech is still slow, G12 pieces are reliant on the flurry of currency after raid rewards and then an increasing problem is relic slicing materials. I get this is the name of the game! However I think the pain point, especially in light of this change, isn't placed in the right area. It is already hard enough and time consuming to get a character from R5 to R9, resources are tight. I understand this lessens when you reach end game but with so many characters we will now need to go back to take up, while trying to keep up its going to feel hopeless. I recently unlocked GL Ahsoka and honestly it's the closest I've came to quitting the game. The grind getting so many new characters just to R5 (then beyond), spending crystals on slicing materials is easily the most demotivating experience in this game. Like many players I spend money on this game but there are so many more motivating areas I'd rather spend my crystals - episode pass for example I made the jump and won't look back. That's how I want to spend money in this game not on trying to relic up a character to R5.

All in all, no massive objections to the changes but bring us along with you and make it manageable for people to welcome these changes.

  • I'll have to look back at some of the videos posted by creators for the answer to #1 (Egnards had a video last night that includes this info), but from memory it was something like 45 or 50% for 2 levels difference.

For #5, my understanding is that all the damage computations are computed for each character, not for the entire team, so if you had a mass assist against an R9 character with R5, R6, R7, R8, and R9 toons attacking, each of these would have a different relic delta that would lead to a different damage impact.

  • Thanks for that reply, good to know!

40/50% is crazy difference between a R7 and R9. Couple of full R9 teams on GAC and you're locked out. They have to make resource changes to allow people to have a chance.
