Relic Delta - Yes, another post

I agree with CG that something needs to change. Pushing a character to R9 does not feel like an improvement. It rarely opens new counters and only in a few instances can you feel the difference (Bane, Drogan, JML, etc). But that is not what is going to happen with the current Relic Delta plan. It is just going to artificially benefit old and whale accounts while destroying the experience for everyone else. I say this because R8/9 takes a lot of money or time, many 1-2 year old accounts are just considering their first or second R9. Many of these accounts have most of their core teams at R5. Most of those teams will be nearly useless in PVP formats in the current Relic Delta presentation. 

My favorite part of this game is strategizing to beat bigger accounts with over relic'd teams, and triple the zetas, omicrons, and mod depth. Planning my GAC attack to maximize my defense and get the most out of my account. Looking for teams they are missing are trying to find ways to exploit those roster gaps by adjusting my defense. I have been relicing teams that have specific counters that can be used to punch up and keep my relatively small account in Kyber 2. The 24-hour GAC planning phase is when I spend the most time on the game, I like the strategy, I like the preparation.

When I look at my current GAC grouping, and imagine the implementation of the Relic Delta, I realize that almost every one of those 13m+ accounts with 500k+ legacy championship scores have something in their roster I almost certainly could not beat with anything in my account. I am not sure my 8 GL account, with everything on offense, can beat a well modded full R9 inquisitor team with the current datacron set. I do not think I would be able to beat an R9 Rey/Ezra team, and I almost certainly could not after everyone gets their hands on the new Rey datacron. There are several teams that at R9 I could not beat, and these teams are commonly at R8/9 when competing in Kyber 2. I would screwed for months as I fall down the rankings, unable to do the part of the game I love the most, slowly losing passive crystal income, immediately losing half of my accounts TW value, and quickly losing my enjoyment for this game.

Just triple the stat boost for pushing a character from R8 to R9. Simple and clean way to fix what I also think is an issue with the game. The outcome is the same for big accounts who see their whole roster get a boost, however it does not screw over the rest of your population as your current plan would.

Put me on the list of accounts that have spent thousands on this game that would consider finding a new one if this is implemented as it has been initially presented. Whoever thought that an artificial 95% damage increase/decrease was a good idea is not your best employee.

  • Let's also not forget how much harder Conquest, TB, and Galactic Challenges would become, especially in the later stages!
