Ironically, I was in the same situation. I had 200 left over currency that I could never spend. The above sale happened and I was able to finally get rid of it. After I spend the 1200 per day, it feels good to be at zero everyday since.
Solutions to the problem.
1. Wait until another sale happens. You might end up waiting a LONG time.
2. When you play GW, stop once you reach 1200 of the currency and forgo the rest of the rewards for that day.
3. Just ignore the left over. Easier said than done if you OCD
4. Hope that CG one day will offer anything in that store for 50/100/200 of the currency just so you and others can finally get their balance to zero. Again, you might end up waiting a LONG time.
