Why not remove the crystals from the fleet arena? It would be a huge leap in quality of life for players.
Ater all, players who spend money on the game regularly will continue to do so, they will continue to buy the ships that come out. The ship sector of GA is just as important as the character sector. At least in my case, I win all my fights thanks to the ship sector.
Why on earth would you want to remove free crystals from the player base? Even if you aren't first the extra is useful, particularly in the early game.
What complete and utter nonsense, crystal and any reward intake should be based on player performance.
You aren't forced to do anything, and its extremely entitled to expect that players who do play the game get less rewards just because YOU haven't the time or inclination to make the same effort.

Yes, the rewards are based on performance, and performance requires participation. (And CG can't force you to do anything.)

I don't think you realize actually how much investment has been put in by players to make returns on fleet. So it frustrating sure when your trying to break into the top 10 of shards to claim crystals. You ultimately have to put the slow work in and mod properly to be consistent.
Most will find established players with investments at a high level and the switch around at the top is fairly fixed with limited workarounds currently. You do have to be active and you do have to concede that 1st spots will always cycle to other players for payouts times. Some shards have discord chats to work that out some don't but just learn others time routine.
Removing crystals in this mode would be a horrible disincentive. I suspect with the Pirate Era characters inbound we will likely experience more ships and a Meta shake up soon. There still scope for other ships to appear I'm sure.
For ever hopeful for a Red Five, Andor luthen ship with either a Death star trench run guild event or a multi guild vs guild light side Dark side mega space fleet battle. :D
