This is a character that is obtainable. For those of us who have invested in her (personally g12 and Zetad), I did so partially because it strengthens the power of this ship. While she's a solid lead for the rogue 1 team, they are mainly useful for their specific TB mission. I would be frustrated if she was removed from the crew as that was the primary motivator for investing this much in her.
