Good to see this topic here I have wanted to discuss this for a while. Here's what I have to share:
My Resistance team (all lv80):
Poe 6 star Gear 8 no mod (leader)
Rey 7 star Max Gear and five lv15 mod5 (for some reason never get the ''cross shape'' mod at 5 stars)
Finn 6 star Gear 8 no mod
RP 7 star Gear 8 no mod
RT 6 star Gear 8 no mod
With this I can only one-star tier 2, and you can imagine for tier 3 it is not even close.
Obviously I need to mod the other four toons, and there are two plans to do that which one do you guys think would be better?
1) Transfer my best mods from my Arena team (all mod 5 health mods, reasonably leveled up) to the resistance team, 3 star tier 3 and then transfer the mods back to the Arena team. This would allow me to just sim the challenge afterwards.
This would be the quickest way because I won't need to farm another set of mods for the resistance toons, and I also save a bunch of credits since I don't need to lv up any new mods. But the problem is WHAT IF I can't three star the challenge? I can't leave the mods on the resistance toons and I need them for my arena team. And obviously I am not switching the mods around EVERYDAY it's a huge waste of time and credits. So yeah this plan only works if I am sure that I can 100% three star tier 3 and can just sim the challenge afterwards.
or I can go plan two:
2) Just farm another set of mods for the four toons. However, it would take much longer and it would a lot of credits to lv up an extra set of mods solely for the resistance toons. However the pro is that I don't have to three star tier 3 (but I will have to ''battle'' it everyday instead of sim it, which can be quite tedious).
So any advice on what I should do?
Solution 1. If it doesn't work on 3-5 attempts, get back mods on arena team and go with Nr 2.
That would be quite disastrous to be honest. It means I am losing both credits (taking off the mods and leveling up new mods) LOL
So you don't want solution 1 because first you need to be sure 100%.. But you can't be sure if you don't try it. And you don't want solution 2 because hey! Solution 1 is way better if it works..
What do you expect exactly?
Taking out 6 t5 mods from 5 char costs a bit less than 150k (142.500), doesn't look like crazy expensive.. And with a maximum of 5 (3 if you're good enough) fights you should be able to realize if it's "3starrable" with good RNG or if you have to further develop your characters. So in the absolutely worst case you loose less than 150k credits, and 48-80 cantina energy.
And that is only if you don't just succeed straight away AND keep fighting even if you can't win!
Hard to see it "disastrous" imho. But anyway, just keep waiting, a better advice will pop up!
