I'll get her. I'm ftp. Started in late april/early May 2016. Started farming FO way before the bb8 event was announced in anticipation of needing them, and got bb8 the first time at 7 stars. Saved up 10k crystals to farm the vets. Am now 22 and 17 out of 100 on them.
This isn't the Thrawn event by any means, and still some very stingy f2p got him at 7 the first time. If you're ftp this is a resource management game. Period, full stop.
If that was the ONLY thing you did daily, then yes, I believe it can be done. That means you might need to forego other opportunities like a Thrawn and Phoenix, and ships, mods and everything else in the game. Realistic? Not really, possible? Remotely. More power to you if you did, but I bet there are also people who doesnt have Finn at 7*. Not everyone started playing this game 2 years ago.
I already had Thrawn,Phoenix, ships, and good mods. What the vets cost me is finishing DT to 7*, and being able to farm better mods for more teams for TW. F2P and 2.4M GP.
And yes, if you started recently, you're going to have a hard time getting her. I missed EP completely his first time, and only got Thrawn to 6* his first time. Hated both of those things.
