Shard Currency Changes(What happens to excess shards not yet converted?(no credits for 7* promotion)

I have several characters where I have more than 330 shards but I don't have enough currency to promote them to 7* so I can convert those shards in the shard shop. For example I have 395 shards of ...

There is a difference if he already has the shards. Those shards are going to be worth the same (1=15) while the store is doubled. Plus Bronzium wasn’t the OP’s concern so wrong thread
