Is there any way to get this faster? Or do you have to out all your other currency into characters you've already 7* to get this fastest?

Once you have all the characters you want from saaaaaay: the Cantina Battles Store you can buy the shards with Cantina currency of a character you have 7*.
5 character shards X 15 Shard currency = 75 currency
