Ship farming takes far longer than character farming

Fairly new player here, about 3 months in, working towards SLKR and got my KRU to seven stars fairly quickly but his ship on the same node is only at 4 stars in the same time. I was wondering if the developers have stated whether they have plans to change ship drops to 2 or whether any of you have any ways of making ship farming more efficient?

    CG doesn't really concern themselves with ships. I believe at the time they added the shard acceleration, they said they wouldn't accelerate ships because there aren't as many?

    I never understood why they make such a big difference between farming characters and farming ships. Both need 330 shards for completion and energy has to be shared between them all
