If you can't beat GK fleets with the old Home One/Falcon team then you need to gear your pilots more. With a fast Bistan its really easy to climb as you can take out Anakin fast and then work through the rest of the fleet.
Having a full rebel front (Bistan/Falcon/Biggs) with Sun Fac/Phantom/Ghost/Cassian you have enough survival and damage to counter their fleets. It may not hold as well on defense compared to the Negotiator but it can still climb, even against reliced fleets
You are missing the point! The point is to have two or more balanced fleets with each having a 50/50 chance at countering the other, NOT a 70/30 or 80/20 chance like now, because that's hardly a meta variety. CG just have a hard time understanding this.

How am i missing the point when currently there is no variety in the meta?
Who are we to say there's supposed to be?
Well it's simple - if CG want more players actively playing ships then they'll make sure the meta is diverse, because the current state of ships simply won't do it.
Handing people first place fleets without ever side investing in ships while CG hands them god fleets for free is pretty trash tho
