Wow. Just wow. So you mean to tell me that anytime anyone tries to "correct" you they need to provide irrefutable proof. Actually your behavior is what's wrong with the US right now. So closed minded to anything that doesn't go along with your belief system you can't handle it. Don't you have some witches to burn or something?
See, more baseless assumptions. I am not at all close minded. If I was I wouldn't even accept proof.
And yes, whenever someone tries to correct me they will need to provide proof, not irrefutable, but at least SOMETHING other than just their words. Math, ACTUAL logic (not logical thinking errors that people commonly mistake for logic), applicable evidence of any kind.
That isn't what's wrong with the world, that's the scientific method. That's why our technology is as advanced as it is. If people DIDN'T require proof, we would have no electricity, no medicine, & probably still believe in geocentricity.
Your ridicule is misplaced. Your understanding of my words is flawed, and you should spend a little more time listening to people than mocking them."Tatebomb;c-1025475" wrote:
"I saw you cast a spell. You're a witch and must burn"
"No sir I didn't and I have 100 people who can vouch for me"
"That's not proof. BURN!!!!!"
Funny, but not analogous to anything that has happened in this thread."Woodroward;c-1025472" wrote:

I do find it a bit interesting that you wouldn't even present nor look for proof yourself, and instead relied on others to do such for you. You, instead, made a claim on a sensitive issue, expecting for folks to just trust your word. And out of thousands of views on this thread, not one individual has backed you up.
To add some humor, you'd do well as Trump's next press secretary."SnakesOnAPlane;c-1025484" wrote:

It's because I honestly never cared about the topic itself. Certainly not enough to try to track down screenshots from specific time frames.
It was about the principle of the matter and trying to teach a lesson to the trolls.
Did I have any chance of success of teaching these people something? Probably not, but chance of success is not what determines whether or not something is worth doing.
Really, I wanted to get one of the trolls to produce the proof, so they would actually be contributing to the conversation and they could see that their trolling was misplaced."Tatebomb;c-1025483" wrote:

"I saw a sith tag on kylo"
" no you didn't and I have lots of people who were there at the time and no sith tag was there"
"That's not proof. BURN!!!!"
Seems similar.
Aye, having witnessed something would be proof. Not having witnessed something is no proof, or (to put it in logical terms), the absence of evidence is not evidence of absence."Tatebomb;c-1025496" wrote:
You're missing the point. You didn't see it. You only thought you did. So instead of accepting the possibility that maybe you were wrong you dug your heels and went on your long winded proof rant. Just like my witch scenario you are convinced you saw something you didn't and despite literally everyone telling you otherwise you went ahead and burned the witch because the word of other people mean nothing to you.
That isn't even close to the case. I stated numerous times I would love to be wrong and that I would gladly accept ANY LEGITIMATE proof.
What I refused to do was accept trolling and people's statements as proof... because they aren't proof. They never will be, and that's a fact."Tatebomb;c-1025496" wrote:

That's powerful."SnakesOnAPlane;c-1025499" wrote:
Personally I think it's unreasonable to expect someone to take your word over something they've seen with their own eyes."Tatebomb;c-1025496" wrote:

Someone's word vs. nothing at all would be another scenario altogether."Tatebomb;c-1025501" wrote:
You were given enough "proof" that if this was court they established beyond a reasonable doubt that kylo never had the tag. So glad that people's statements mean nothing. Wonder why cops get statements from witnesses though....
I was not given proof until the last two pages of this thread... nothing that would hold up in any legitimate court or in front of any scientific review board anyway.
Things a layman might accept as proof... sure.
Cops get statements from witnesses to try and figure out what happened. Do you think they believe everything they are told? This analogy supports my position far more than yours."Woodroward;c-1025503" wrote:

Do you ever research statements you make, after others, in this case many, give you a different assessment?"Tatebomb;c-1025504" wrote:
If it was one person or a few I would be like you and stick to my guns as well. But that's not the case here.
But to change your mind simply because of the number of people who say something is actually logical thinking error: Argumentum Ad Populum. So this point is actually not a point at all...
