I'd like to offer a few small (I think) easy to make changes that would drastically decrease the rng and make the raid more enjoyable. They won't require CG to abandon their vision, but they'll make the raid better. Here they are:
Phase 1: : Decrease the % health damage on drain force. Make it only about the cooldown for annihalate. Reason: If you time annihalate right, and still get killed on a drain force attack, it's aggravating and you restart. : Remove the randomness on who gets the "unbreakable will" buff. Make it predictable on a priority list. For example: highest health tank>highest health healer>highest health support>highest health attacker. Reason: If the buff goes on the wrong toon, you restart. Knowing where it's going would be a huge improvement.
Phase 2: This phase is fine.
Phase 3: Remove the dispel from the retribution lightsaber. Reason: If your tank puts up taunt, gets dispelled, and someone else gets isolated out the gate you restart. Removing the dispel will fix this. If you want to keep the raid hard, replace the dispel with a healing immunity. Still hard, but no longer RNG dependent.
Phase 4: Include from Phase 1 for the same reason.
These are, imo, simple changes that would preserve CG's vision for the raid, but would remove much of the randomness and RNG dependency that drives players insane and breaks guilds.
