That notification about rewards *isn't* about this thread. Its about the TU12 changes where they were going to add two more G12 gear slots with gear that was only available in the Heroic STR. That thread is *good* news.

That's all we need is for heroics to get exclusive gear on top of Traya shards...
Not everyone is running heroic and the rewards from tiers 1-6 are pathetic piles of garbage which don’t make the raids even worth doing
I recall them saying that they intended this raid to be done 1-2 a week. If that's the case I think they need to use TB as a reference. They also need to use the heroic tier as a reference.
If lower tiers got us complete raid gear & other high demand pieces I think people would be much happier. Also buff the guild tokens to be much higher in tier 1-6 (perhaps even slightly higher than heroic to account for the lack of Traya shard motivation).
They should also unnerf jtr as I think the community has pretty clearly demonstrated that she wasn't over performing but rather raid mechanics by design made all other toons underperform. If by design every toon except jtr has their kit hard countered and rendered as useful as CUP of course she will appear to be over performing by comparison.
This issue isn’t how long the raids take or how often a week we can run them, it’s that the rewards are literally worse than the 3 and 6 runs of the daily challenges (drunk Plo Koon’s table). No one wants to bother contributing because the rewards are so beyond pathetic
I don't deny that. What I meant though was that even if they made the payout for tier 1 equal to #1 rewards for heroic rancor the fact that the kittened up mechanics make it a mindless grind that by design will take longer than rancor to clear would mean it still wouldn't be worth it to run it. Why should a guild spend several hours (or days depending on strength) of their collective time to clear something to get rewards comperable to content they clear in an hour? ,
The payouts are trash I agree. But in fixing them they need to account for time invested relative to other raids of a comperable tier. Therein lies the problem the rewards for tier 1-6 will have to be massively superior to all other current raid tiers of comperable difficulty to make the mindless multi-day grind worth it (witness how the changes to heroic rewards were met when they were nerfed to a comperable level of terribleness). Or keep the rewards as is and nerf tier 1-6 bosses straight into the ground. Option 1 likely breaks the game insofar as the devs have designed gear bottlenecks to set the pace of toon improvement (based on the fact that the devs realized that heroic tier rewards break their intended pace of end game gear progress); option 2 requires the devs to acknowledge just how badly they screwed up scaling the difficulty of lower tiers.
It seems the devs have a kobayashi maru on their hands with this raid.
