So what's up with squad arena update silence?

As the title suggests what is exactly going on with the removal of squad arena? I haven't seen any updates regarding its official end and every post ive read involving it is at least 1-2 months old all asking about the same situation and yet nothing has been implemented. Since then we've gotten an new era of toons with darth jar jar and the previous era toons are accessible but apparently no news on squad arena.
