For whatever it's worth, I unlocked Malak on the first run and I felt they should've just let the error go. Screwups were almost a guarantee, and allowing some free shards of a character that's on his third? fourth run? really doesn't seem like that big a deal.

The best thing they could've done was go "Well, crap. We screwed up, but we know you guys already got the shards and rollbacks suck, so we're letting you keep them. Enjoy it." And then actually fix the event for the next run instead of applying all these goofy bandaid fixes.
