Something has to be done about the Arena lockout (suggestions welcome)

I like the idea of showing who is busy. I wasted a refresh yesterday trying to grab the #2 spot from #6, to find that all the top 5 spots were already engaged and I had no one to fight. If I could have seen that I didn't have any available fights, wouldn't have bothered.
