Beyond the clear disconnect between the raid theme and the Pirate faction, I completely agree based on the current marquee release schedule and probable level of investment needed for the upcoming raid that this is a poor decision, and we need, at minimum, a clear update on the raid expectations from players to be able to either retain or max crate the new raid.
As someone who has both been whaling and saving as many resources as possible to power up the new clones, Tarkin, the new Jedi Vanguard for the new Mace, and the new Bad Batch, it feels like a bit of a low kick to throw in the incomplete Pirate faction into the raid just to drive people to spend.
We don’t event know yet if the rewards will be proportional to the level of investment likely to be required to make players not want to rip their hair out with frustration over a possible RNG fest a la Naboo raid. Unless the Pirate faction is to be a fun added bonus with the other three teams (possibly four with other Jedi Vanguard) being able to achieve max crate, this is a poor move in my opinion, especially when the announcement of the Pirate faction being the last remaining faction needed was not shared with the same enthusiasm and plausible transparency as other updates on more popular platforms that alert players, such as as SWGOH Events.
Lastly, the game is in urgent need of a solution to the insufferable amount of time it takes to perform repeat activities. If I have gotten a certain score range in the raid in the last, LET ME SIM IT. CG should be making every effort to make anything that is repetitive and not fun after the thousandth time simmable across all non-PvP game modes. Period. On a tangential note, some later TB planets have the same problem with enemies that are pure damage sponges where even R9 is a slog fest…
