STH Taunting through Shock

You would think the tm gain when Han is damaged would operate under the condition that Han is actually taunting. If you dispell the taunt it doesn't keep working, so why would it keep working when the taunt doesn't go up at all?

Shock only affects abilities directed towards self. The TM gain is directed to others...STH does not get the TM gain but his allies will. Same thing for Lumi's heal or Phasma's Advantage Up.

Debatable. The taunt is a hard state that is applied and can be cleansed. The follow on effect of TM grant is a hard stat in that it can not be cleansed. While EP's shock will block the taunt and does not allow the hard state the follow on effect is still applied... like wise if Han's taunt is cleared by someone like Sun Fac the add on state will also not clear.

Now, why would you hit him after you blocked or cleared his stun? In the old days..heh heh.. I was a big advocate of STH dies first due to the random tm reduction on his turn. But with the new speed mods and such it is best to clear him and leave him alone till last or near last even if he is speed modded.

Is he shocked or stunned?

I beat Wiggs meta teams specifically by stunning ST Han before he gets a chance to go. Every day multiple times.

I've never seen him taunt through a stun. He's resisted the stun but that's a separate issue.

I don't have EP but I think if you're just giving him that shock status effect over his head it doesn't affect his taunt ability one way or another.

3/5 of my toons have AOE. Can't avoid hitting him with those, and the AOE is too valuable to forgo.

Shock affects his taunt taking effect - in other words, he throws it up but you can target anyone on the opposing team. However the TM gain from the Taunt will apply to his allies provided they too are not Shocked.

I understand the initial tm gain when he throws it up, but if you hit STH again afterwards, allies will gain tm again.

I wonder if you can dispell that with QGJ after blocking the taunt...would be really weird.

This is most likely what's happening and keep in mind his TM gain still gets applied through shock for his allies (unless of course they're shocked as well), just not himself as another already commented.
The TM gain from this ability:

"Special · Level 8
Draw Fire 5 turn cooldown
Han Taunts for 3 turns, and all other allies gain 30% Turn Meter. In addition, all other allies gain 20% Turn Meter when Han is damaged."

Shocked. He gets shocked, which means there is no taunt above his head, but the secondary effect of the taunt remains, granting allies tm.
