Let me give some examples

Let’s say I’ve just completed tier 1 of Military Might using CLS, an optimal team. For each subsequent tier, I’d want to keep using CLS. Autofill does that for me, because autofill saves the team for the last battle string (light side, dark side, cantina, etc)
If I wanted to switch out maybe one or two characters, I don’t need to put the whole team in again.
Even if the filter is preset, you’d still have to scroll for the toons. The only time autofill (highest GP) would be a problem is if the team isn’t already preloaded
I replay the ABs manually for something to do

So when you’re replaying assault battles to kill time, it’s important not to waste any time when doing so?

I don’t mind autofilling for assault battles, TB etc. If people end up using the wrong units in these game modes that’s down to their lack of paying attention. I want it turned off for the Raid.

Unless I’m imagining things autofill isn’t activated in GAC and TW, so it should he possible for the devs to extend that to the Raid. That would be a QoL improvement I’d welcome with open arms.

So you’re saying autofill is only a real problem in one gamemode out of several? That’s surely a loose foundation to base your point on, no?
At the end of the day, it just comes down to playstyles. I don’t avidly plan for raids, I just out in a team and hit auto. Casual guild. I can see why it might be annoying for the more competitive players, but I’ve never found myself especially frustrated with this feature.

  That’s not what I’m saying at all. I would prefer autofill to not exist in any game mode, but I’d be happy to compromise to see it removed from the game mode where it is the most irritating to me. By the sounds of it, this compromise wouldn’t have a negative impact on you.
  I’ve stated my position. If it doesn’t apply to you, that’s fine. Your position doesn’t apply to me. That’s also fine.
  I would be interested to know which slice of the playerbase pie chart was larger, though. Those that like autofill because it allows them to needlessly replay assault battles a few seconds faster or those who find it needlessly adds seconds to each and every raid attempt.
  Edit: I also note that you’re only giving a supposed benefit in one game mode of several, which must be an equally loose foundation for your point?
