Stranger for Crystals?
I've yet to see the Stranger appear in the Conquest store for crystal prices. I'd amassed a horde of them in preparation but to no avail, and since they were burning a hole in my pocket most of that ...

Why would you spend crystals on the most recent Conquest unit? You can still grab 90 shards over the next 3 months and feats are braindead easy.
Because not everyone is an endgame player with all the right toons. I was barely hitting the 450 crate during the conquest run of the stranger, so yeah, I wanted to supplement with crystals because I wanted him quickly.
My example.
I'm in K2 and usually get first in ship arena payout. I have good daily crystal income.
I got 110 from strangers first conquest.
I got 110 from strangers second conquest.
I got 20 from the charity thing reward.
I then sat out for a month, which covered the last of his conquests; I didn't want to deal with all the bugs and Relic Delta etc.
I then picked up 25 from the Conquest store (during the period this thread started).
I could pick up another 20 from this current conquest with conquest currency on Jawa nodes. I will get another 30 from the red crate.
That's..........315. So for 1800 crystals I can have him up and running for the up and coming PvP seasons. For me, that's a no brainer. In the end, I felt I was cutting things tight with the new Satellite Satele (or whatever her name is) jedi shards. So, I bought the Conquest Pass.
