Suggested changes to Finn

Finn isn't a terrible hero, but he isn't viable in arena, and doesn't pack enough of a punch in other battle modes either.

One of my main issues is that Finn isn't at all like a tank. The only tank like ability he has is his leader ability which adds a paltry 35 defense to all Resistance allies.

In fact, his tank-like-abilities are so bad that I have gone through the first 11 stages of GW and he has been hit by single target attack zero times. He was only hit by AOE or counter. So he provides no protection to any of his allies.

First change: Change Finn's leader ability Balanced Tactics to 'Finn has a 65% chance to give all other Resistance allies stealth at the start of their turns.'

For comparison Teebo has a 55% chance for every single ally regardless of faction. This would make the choice between Poe as leader or Finn as leader a tougher decision now. Maybe one for defense and one for offense in full Resistance teams.

Second change: Remove his second ability 'Hold The Line' Entirely. It's useless in every single way. The worst part is that the AI uses it every chance it gets.

Third change: Removal of this ability is effectively a nerf. This will make the way for some or all of these buffs:

A buff to speed: Currently it is 113 at max everything. As he isn't a real tank anyway,  change his speed to 135. He will now go before Resistance Trooper, so there is greater synergy there.

A buff to potency: currently 62%, buffed to 75%. His stuns and exposes will now stick more.

A buff to heath steal: currently 20% at max, now 30%. This will make up for the loss of his second ability heal.

Every player who invested ability mats in his second ability will have them returned to the player, as it is now removed.
Spoiler
Just kidding about that last part ;)

So, what do you think? Any questions or concerns?

you forgot the forum guidlines ? or just ignoring them on purpose?

Ignoring them. Certain ones are enforced, certain ones aren't. I've never seen this one enforced.

It's like saying stoopid to get around the word filter, you're never going to get a warning for it.

EDIT: If you don't like it then report me.

i only asked if you chose to ignore them, or forgot the guidlines. i dont mind bumbs, i just think its a bit hypocritical that you, of all people on this forum, choose to ignore the guidlines. I am most certainly not going to report someone for bumping.

It would be hypocritical if I had accosted someone else for this reason before, but I won't as I think the rule is generally pretty stoopid.

    Obviously bump
    bump
    bump
    bump
is stoopid, and in that instance I would day something.

But once on a poll isn't that big of a deal.

P.S. thanks for bumping my thread.

that would be true if you actually had not accosted someone else for posting against the forum guidlines, but you did, many times.

Yeah I did, for breaking other rules. I haven't accosted anyone for breaking this rule.

What you're saying is that I can't tell murderers that they're bad people because I got in a bar fight, there's a difference.
  • Well thought out. I'd only disagree with your rationale for the third buff - removing Hold the Line altogether would (sadly) be a huge buff to his AI as he wouldn't waste an entire turn every battle. That's how bad it is...
  • His 'hold the line ability' which grants advantage needs to stay as he is former first order.

My suggestion would be a micro version of victory march

Hold the line - Finn gains advantage for himself and one random ally. All allies gain 35% Turn Meter.
    Or
Hold the line - Finn taunts for 2 turns and heals x% over the start of his next 2 turns

Im also not sure about the stealth bit. I like his offence boost for rey, RT and RP (and don't own poe) playing against a perma-stealthed Rey may be a bit OP

Would be nice if he got reworked for arena viability as I only use him in GW & some challenges but
RT NEEDS SOME LOVE AS WELL!

The idea with the 'all other Resistance allies gain stealth' was that it effectively gives him a taunt. But, it's still easily counterable and RNG dependent.

I agree that he isn't necessarily like a tank, but I wouldn't say he needs a buff. Like the Ewok faction, he shines only in a Resistance faction.

Except he is the least shiny Resistance hero in a faction that barely shines at all.
