Nope, you aren't understanding me. My first thought was to change how the AI works on defense. Nobody likes that idea. What I am saying is the speed stat has the potential of throwing off balance because it is so much more powerful than any other possible secondary stat on mods. If it has to remain, it should be brought down to a level where it isn't so reliant on RNG. I would prefer they remove it completely as a secondary stat or make it percentage based capped at 2% per mod. Remember when Poe and the speed stat was changed because games were decided by whose Poe went first? Well this isn't much different. Only now it takes thousands of dollars and a lot of luck to get the speed mods necessary to compete. It's going to have to be addressed.
Here is the problem. People have paid money for these. I won't use the forbidden "r" word but it will be a **** storm again if they just removed the stat, or made them all the same.
IMO the most that would happen if they "nerf" them is proportional reduction across the board 20 become 5, 5 become 1. The 5 secondary will still be as hard to find as the 20 are now so the same players still have the same speed advantage. Same thing if they went % based.
No they wouldn't have the same advantage because then speed leads and speed mod sets would matter more.
Yes speed mod sets would matter more and the ones willing to spend would just buy the speed mod sets with max speed secondaries. So they still own the speed advantage. The players that used to have +5 speed secondaries now have +1

+10% +55 Speed vs +35 speed. Advantage to the ones willing to spend. The main speed advantage comes at the start of the match, once the party is started there are many abilites that take affect and move TM up and down
Be careful what you wish for. I don't see a nerf just to the top end. If it happens I see it as broad sweep nerf, and if it does it should be. Unless the request is nerf what others have but not mine.
The real issue right now is that you get more speed by winning the lottery on secondary stats than you do going 4 speed set. That's wrong. I see two ways to fix this:
1- Nerf speed secondary stats so it caps at 15 (25 is possible right now)
2- Buff the speed set bonus to 10% and 20%
The full set bonus should always be the best way to achieve a particular boost to a stat and right now its not. If players want speed (like I do)? Then you should pick speed; not pick offence, health or crit and then still rack up +90 speed in bonuses.
That's if we really want balance.
1. I just don't see it happening that way. IMO if there is a reduction it will be an across the board reduction and it is not going to favor the players that only have +5/7 speed secondaries. 30% reduction on speed secondary stats is not going to change much.
2. I have always though the set bonuses were low and should IMO give better stats than a primary.
1. Why would they nerf all mod boosts when it's clear that speed is the only problem one?
