SW GOH cross play on iOS and Android

What's the official line on cross play across iOS and Android devices ?

I believe its not possible - is that correct ?

And if its not then why hasn't this been implemented ? Other games have this feature and I'm amazed this isn't supported considering how many people play this game.

It is possible and you will be able to do it in the future. They JUST disabled that feature a couple days ago, even thought they said it was likely coming with the update, so you are up a creek until they bring it back. It will be in settings under connect when and if they bring it back.

  • I started an account on Android and was able to associate the game with a new device when I got an iPad.

I don't know if you can go back and forth on an everyday basis, but if you start with Android, then add a specific iOS device, you might be able to then use that one iOS device + any Android device that you've logged on using GooglePlay.

Otherwise, I think you might have to go back and forth between devices, adding each one as "new" every time you wanted to switch back and forth between iOS & Android.

Again, I don't know if that's how it works. I think it's probably NOT how it works. I think you should only have to use the "link device" once for each separate iOS device.

But basically, even if you only have to go through the "link a new device" thing once for each iOS device, the answer to your question should be,

Yes. You can play using both Android and iOS, but we make it very cumbersome and by making it difficult, we are effectively discouraging it.

They have disabled the initial “linking” of an act across iOS and Android. Accounts already linked before this change continue to work as before. You do not need to “re-link” everytime you switch.
  • Well i've followed the process with EA as they have to manually move your account only to be advised to follow a link that takes me to the page that displays this!

The entire process is a joke and considering the amount of time and money spent on this it should be sorted out.
  • Does anyone know of anyone in EA support that can help with this as I'm going round in circles, their own support isn't aware of the following:

    In-game account switching is disabled
Starting August 12, 2020, you won’t be able to switch your account yourself in the app. Contact us if you need to move your SWGoH account.
  • Open a ticket at EAHelp and then direct message Crumb with that open ticket number asking if he can escalate it. You can also ask for it to be escalated to a specialist when you reach out to them, sometimes that works too.
