You thought this through quite well, but I’ll have to disagree. That is who Darth Sidious should be, yes. But Chancellor Palpatine on the other hand, has to be like Hermit Yoda, Mon Mothma, and C-3PO. He has to be manipulating both allies and enemies from the shadows, what he thematically does best. His abilities giving both enemies and allies buffs and debuffs (kind of like Saw and Thrawn’s basic, but on a grander scale). As a twist, if there are no more allies left, he activates his “It’s Treason Then”, in which he finally reveals himself with a single red lightsaber, and he gains offensive abilities, or something along those lines. As weird as it sounds, he has to be Light Side with a Galactic Republic tag. When he activates “It’s Treason Then”, they should implement him switching to the Dark Side faction mid-battle, which I think has never been done before
You are correct, I should have thought about his effect on the galactic republic while operating in the shadows, I really meant throne room Palpatine like the one where he fought mace windu.
