Tenacity down and potency in the heroic pit raid

Hi everyone.

As I understand it, the rancor always has a 15% minimum chance of resisting negative status effects and TM removal, no matter how much potency a character has.

A few questions:

(1) If the rancor has the tenacity down debuff throughout the raid, does that mean that your debuffing and TM removing characters don't have to be equipped with potency at all, and the rancor will only resist 15% of the time? Will a TM removing toon with 0% potency in this situation be just as effective against the rancor, as the same toon equipped with 100% potency?

(2) If the rancor doesn't have tenacity down, how much potency will characters have to have, to make sure that the rancor's chance of resisting will reach the minimum of 15%?

Hope some of you may know.
  • You want a decent crit chance on TFP if you're not using Phasma. Tenacity Down is a fixed chance of sticking and TFP will only inflict it on a crit with his basic

I think your missing the level difference in the rancor raid. They are 5-10 lvls above your toons. Even with tenacity down. They will still resist more because of this level spread.

I think I saw somewhere that resist chance is something like:

    (Tenacity + 5*level difference - Potency)

With minimum resist chance of 15%.

So even if Tenacity was 0, you still need 100 potency to have a descent success rate.

i've read that somewhere aswell, but your calculations are a bit off.
at 0% tenacity and level delta 5 (i believe the rancor is level 90) you still only need 10% potency for max success rate. Anything above that is wasted because of the minimum resist chance.
Not sure why you think the level difference matters when you're using tenacity down. Tenacity down lowers the tenacity with 999900%, so it's not like you won't reach the minimum chance, not even if you're using lvl 1 characters.
