Individual/average GP are far better ways to match up than guild GP. Middle players have a lot of characters between 6 and 10K that are largely useless in TW because they lack synergy or are too weak...more advance players have more matured versions of those same characters with minimal upgrades in GP. Even things like mods make a big difference.
