Territory wars matchmaking

This time it just got ridiculous. We got matched up against a guild with more than 30 mils gp more than us (35-36M, we're 82M they're 117). We have 19 defense spots so they had 38 players joining it to obviously lower the GP of the opponent. All these secrets about the algorithm used for matchmaking... I'm beginning to think that you keep it secret because it doesn't even exist or because it is so pitifully poor that you prefer to not disclose it. I still have to face a guild which is the same level of mine. "Hurr durr the matchmaking reflects the depth of the rosters" really? Say it to the trayas and shopped enfys we will have to face. Say it to the op defenses they will deploy while still having insane teams for the attack phase.

  • Did you look them up in game? Last time a fee of these reports popped up too and a couple of them swgoh.gg had not updated and they were actually lower.

Also knowing that they didnt all sign up, means that it is not a 30M gp difference. I'm not saying that makes it easy, but it's also not as bad as you are saying it is.
  • There is no exploit. You don't know what you are talking about. You even said so yourself:

I'm not into maths or programming. But I'm into gaming, so I can suggest better solutions based on other games. F2p pvp games usually use the "spread" mechanism. You can be matched up with opponents which are x points (or whatever power quantification mechanism you use) weaker or stronger than you.

You claim it is an exploit, but the claim is unfounded. You base it on nothing. You don't know how it works because the developers keep it a secret:

You admit the matching algorithm is a guarded secret, yet claim that this unknown algorithm is being exploited. How can anyone exploit it if nobody knows how it works? It is impossible.

But it doesn't matter, because you win anyway regardless of your opponents' dubious tactics:

If your guild uses low exploits to win TWs and doesn't get salvaged like mine (actually not, we win most of them even with this status quo) and if you're playing since day 1 don't you feel at least a little bit ashamed when you hop into threads and say such things?

How can you claim this is an exploitative tactic if it does not give your opponent a competitive advantage? Why would your opponents use this "exploit" if it does not help them win? Does not sound much of an exploit to me if it does not work.

  • They dont disclose it (which is the right thing to do) because people would play the system and be able to force "more accurate" bad matching.
