Thank you - a positive discussion

Hi everyone,

I've noticed a lot of negativity in the community lately regarding some of the new updates, and I just wanted to take a moment to thank the developers for making this really cool game in the first place. CG is just a small office with real people, and if you step back it's easy to see the amount of effort and hard work that these people put into the game. For those of you who sim everything nowadays, try going into an actual battle and looking at amount of detail put into each of the maps. It's pretty awesome. I just thought it would be a good time right now to remind everyone that they aren't some heartless corporate office trying to scam everyone of all their money, like some players would have you believe. They're real people who clearly care about the game, with how much work they have put into attention to detail over the years. People don't pay much attention to things that they're used to, so next time you're fighting a battle on Tatooine, take a second to look at the sand and pretend like it's a real battle in the movies. You may just remember why you started playing the game.

Thanks for reading,

    Just lately?

  • Why can't both be true?

They clearly do have a lot of energy, hard work and sincere care for the franchise and they probably are fine individuals, as many people are.

However they are also a company beholden to another company that is clearly out to make profits at any and every expense from a player-base that is undeniably smaller than it was in previous eras of the game's life. I'm not suggesting it's doom and gloom, but they are absolutely trying to make money while they can.

You are praising CG for something which was there since beginning and paid for in the first year. I agree with what you are saying about the graphics of battles but that does not make a content of the game. Truth is that just playing battles is not enough. Community is very demanding because this is high profile game making enormous money. And those money haven't been reflected in really new content recently. The main problem is that it seems that the game has already passed its best part of the lifecycle, some devs may have been moved to other project and game is now mostly in maintenance mode with just enough updates to keep people playing paying.

Major releases this year were either changing stats of existing characters (g13, relics) which has nothing to do with the new content, reskinning existing TB to new much harder form, GAC, epic confrontation, reworks, new gear and just few new chars. Not much honestly for the game which is making how much? $10M a month? What we saw at the same time were incomplete and badly tested releases causing features to be stopped or reverted next day, characters to be updated or nerfed after release to fix bugs and devs spending additional time on firefighting + the whole controversy around cheating and if there really is any mechanism to detect cheating.

For someone who is playing the game for few months, it may not matter but for people who played for few years and maybe spent a lot of money, expectation may be very different and so the feedback.
