In spite of a bunch of bad updates in the past, I still enjoyed logging in and doing my stuff. Now the only thing keeping me playing is the money I've spent in the past. Definitely not putting another dime here at the very least.

Game is not dying though, people who can afford to buy all the bundles will still keep playing and the game will still be profitable for the devs regardless of a mass exodus. I've seen it happen in other gacha games, contrary to belief, gacha game developers are not looking at how many people are playing, they're looking at how much they can price gouge trust fund kids on a daily basis. I played a different game and I saw some people literally spend 10 000$+ per day just so they could one up other whales. There are people who justifies all these paywalls.
I do still enjoy conquest, but now it seems they are trying to stop those from getting red crates unless you buy the new characters, but we will see.
The pay walls here are small enough and would say most could afford it, but the long time players are the ones who don't want to spend it as it doesn't seem fair to basically have stuff taken away until they spend. At least that's why I stopped spending, when I used to spend a good amount.
I've played for a lot of years now and this is the biggest exodus I have seen from an update and first I've even debating giving up on the game due to. I'm just holding out hope that they remove some of these paywalls

I'll start in reverse. I can't say much about the last part. I mean, a lot of updates nowadays come with some form of outrage and threats of quitting. Some of them justified, others not so much.
As for the second part, about the pay walls, I agree. Having additional rewards for buying a pass is fine, but right now, for example, with GCs: we used to be able to get 4 feats most of the time, now 2 of them are locked behind an actual paywall and having the latest marquee at a certain star level, which can only be achieved if you spend tens of thousands of crystals or several hundreds of dollars (or whatever your currency unit is).
As for the first part, about Conquest, again, I agree. Conquest as a whole is not bad, I don't even mind how strong some of the enemies are - there are ways of dealing with the infinite TM ITs, or infinite TM Canderous, or Padme and her damage reflect, or Pao or Sabine attacking 14+ times in one turn. It's the feats requiring the newest characters or gaining buffs that only 1-2 characters can give that are frustrating. Yes, they are manageable for the most part, but a lot of them require very specific team comps and/or data disks, otherwise you have no chance, and leave you with little wiggle room to use other teams to progress without having to do a major grind later on. To say nothing about feats that require them to survive. Example, Win 10 battles with Morgan surviving; unless you have the right disks or a comp that can quickly and safely destroy the enemy team, there is no way you can use a low-gear Morgan with NS, they rely on revives and Morgan prevents them, so the moment she dies there's no use trying.
