While Biggs was nothing, Wedge was really important in the movies. He took down the second Death Star along with lando. Not everything in this game is based on lore strictly, otherwise Darth Sidious would kill literally everyone. However wedge does deserve recognition because he we probably the best rebel pilot outside Han and like
And they won't be nerfed because people have put way too much into them. It's far to late for a nerf now
I'd argue Wedge was a better pilot than Han, though obviously not as good as Luke. Han was a smuggler; he avoided combat whenever he could, chose stealth options. He had a fast ship that enabled him to accomplish certain feats (Kessel run in 12 parsecs being chief among them), and he certainly had skill as a pilot. However, Wedge did a lot more as a Rogue Squadron pilot (yes, this is pulling from pre-Disney EU but I feel like it's still valid, given he's Rogue leader in episode 6 and Rogue Squadron was the most elite squadron in the Rebellion and arguably the galaxy). He flew combat missions, was one of the only (if not the only? not sure here) snubfighter pilot to survive both Death Star runs, and in the EU led Rogue Squadron on more than enough missions (while surviving) to qualify as a better pilot than Han.
I love Han Solo, I really do. But Wedge Antilles was a better pilot than Han Solo.
