Thanks, as the only person in my guild remotely near my timezone, I absolutely hate this mechanic.
This. The tactics needed to help avoid the 20% buff issue punishes international guilds, guilds where the players work different shifts, guilds with players across multiple time zones, etc.
It's like CG said "What types of things to players hate the most? Let's bundle as many of them in this raid rework as possible! Happy Holidays!"
Let's do a quick check list, shall we:
1) Extremely top-heavy reward structure to undermine guild cooperation/guild stability? CHECK!
2) Relic gating instead of allowing theory crafting and strategy? CHECK!
3) Guild officers/leaders spending time to coordinate large groups for effectiveness? CHECK!
4) Rework old content just making it harder instead of actually creating new content? CHECK!
5) Require large groups of guild members to all be in-game at a specific time of day, thus punishing guilds who don't all live in the same time zone/share the same schedule? CHECK!
6) Call things "exclusive" to the raid....but then sell them anyway? CHECK!
The only thing CG even tried to do well was communicate. But since several points in the communication about the raid were dishonest (i.e. "flatter rewards", "exclusive") it's really counterproductive. Frankly, I'd rather they go back to not communicating at all than lie to us.
