I’m in a 170 mil gp guild and got 47* stars. We couldn’t fill any squadrons yesterday. We also over extended ourselves by trying to fill all the platoons.
Gear and mods will do well even with no platoons.
I think the problem is layered. There are so few ds toons compared to ls. - the only way this is improved is by adding new toons. Which most will be marquee and add to the platoon probs.
Also as someone with a bolstered empire roster it’s hard to platoon and fight 2 empire specific battles. Not to say it’s impossible tho. It’s hard to justify gearing your 15 th empire toon for 1 cm in the last phase of dstb.
A zeta gar Saxon lead doesn’t work lol but a palp or Zader lead does. And veers led troopers do too.
Platoons are flawed. But I think the point that kyno makes is at least it’s consistent. You know platoons 3 and 4 times 2 will always be empire and you know there will always be new marquees in there.
Tldr- you don’t have to platoon. Better to gear and mod your teams better.
