These people aren't discussing mod strategies or ways to legitimately get ahead. They are just ganging up on people who have found ways to beat them legitimately. The intent behind the scenarios presented is extremely different, one is promoting improvement of the whole while the other is effectively punishing those who have figured out a way to do it on their own.You look at the top of these arenas and almost everybody has the same mods gear and zetas. Only difference is who you are friends with.
You assume they're ganging up because you're getting hit to the 30s over the course of the day. Ganging up would be a coordinated effort to chain you back when you're trying to climb. What you're describing is pretty standard behavior -- if I'm rank 17 and I have two teams at 13 and 12 that I can equally beat, I'm likely to choose the one that isn't in my shard chat. Why? Not because I'm trying to gang up on someone, but because why should I make things harder for the person who is willing to be cooperative and participate in an activity that results in higher net crystals for the members of the chat?
And you don't know what they're discussing if you're not in the chat. We discuss mods and strategies in mine. We discuss TB and other things as well. My biggest opponent from the snipe-and-lock days before my chat started and I talk regularly about all kinds of things including TW strategies, mods, and team comps. We test teams against each other, since there's no sandbox mode to try things.
