This game was fun...for a few days

This game is more fun to play when you can make some progress. The double/triple drops dramatically increases shards for single drop(aka non accelerated) toons. It makes the game more fun to play. I don't think CG realizes that. CG makes choices that sometimes hurt gameplay or stagnate gameplay where players don't progress and it simply causes people who are fans of star wars to quit. On top of that, i think people are more likely to spend when feeling like they are progressing.

There are serious bottlenecks (and there always have been even back in the carbantis and stun guns days). Now they have shifted to kyrotech, g12+ materials, relic mats, and signal data.

But farming toons should not be boring.

Some examples: ( i realize there is someone who will stand up for CG for some reason and that's fine but the truth is that farming one toon ( non GL, non legendary) should not be a time consuming endeavor. One month is a long time. Even if you go crazy burning crystals on refreshes, it's still a low drop rate. I mean, how bad are people wanting "Appo" compared to Vader)

Single drop (toons and ships) : why is this good for the game? How is farming the same node for a ship for months fun. I get it, newer toons should be harder to farm so you push them to pay for shards. But after a few months, we are not going to purchase shards.  Certainly not 330 of them. Heck, even the peridea patrol are single drops. Worse yet, many players can't even beat T1 or T2 of their assault battle to get more shards (and they are not popular toons so who would farm them otherwise?)

Signal data; are we supposed to farm signal data month after month? The drops are low and it requires some for every toon for every relic.

I would seriously drop this game and play the same game that allows faster progress. Lower shards needed from 330 to 180. Cut g12 piece reqs in half, cut relic materials in half. Cut signal data down. Yes, it makes the game easier to progress but that is a good thing.  The more areas of the game a player can participate in, the more likely they are to keep playing.

I don't think you understand that this is a resource management game. As it is the game is hugely f2p friendly, and certainly much more now than when many of us started. Us end game players who can go after the new shiny stuff have either taken years to get to this point or those who wanted an easier path paid which is fine as you can choose to either invest time or money.

But not you wanting more without any effort on your part with your quite frankly entitled ideas.

  • As a labelled "less than mid game player", this game isn't as F2P as you think. Take it from someone on the other side, all the events with good rewards are being locked behind all the brand new shiny marquees, conquests and legendaries.

Disagree. This is the most f2p friendly game I have ever played...oh, wait, I've already had this conversation with you, so I'll stop wasting my time trying to explain it to you again

  • Judging by your forum account, I would say you've been playing for at least 8 years. So end game player, right? Yes, this game was very F2P friendly for the first year or so of having it, but has leaned more towards whaling in recent times with the LSBs and all the shiny new marquees that are needed for these events with all the good rewards. I expect it's much easier to be F2P when you're already a late game player, having a great crystal income and stockpiles of gear. But I'm just about mid-game, scraping for crystals, zetas and Kyrotech, and it's impossible for me to even consider any of these new events without opening up my wallet.

It goes beyond "you're not going to get this character at a great place because it's new", because that's fair enough, but when those same characters are required for any of the events with good rewards, it's a real struggle for midgame players who are sitting between the point of "I have massive stockpiles of crystals and gear" and "welcome to the game, we'll give you a bunch of stuff to get you going"

  • Are you referring to era battles when you say new characters required for events? Because if you are then I’m afraid you are gravely mistaken. The whole point of era battles is to give people more incentive to buy the new stuff, of course f2p players won’t be able to get the best rewards. CG did however, give us access to tier 1, which even if you couldn’t complete with Appo alone, will still give you a FREE 14 million credits, 70 omegas, and 98 character shards. And all that is just on its first run around the block as we know it will return occasionally. And you’re acting like end game f2p players have everything. Like a new gl comes out and they can just snap their fingers and have it and their team r9 all zetas and omicrons, ultimate ability activated, the best lvl 9 dc for them every cycle. and + 150 speed mods on all characters. Even the whales can’t do that.

It is possible to slow farm FTP at mid game and get good rewards for the rosters progress. Many end game players have alternative FTP accounts. So we know both economies well. The problem is when newer players want the rewards being introduced for end game players now. The raid is the only event which hinges on if you chase the latest release or not, earlier accounts should not be too concerned if they are not achieving as high as more advanced guilds. But it seems you want to compete with players who are chasing all the new releases, they can do so because they have everything else. Which is why they need something to chase to still enjoy the game. Raid rewards scale decently, and it’s absolute choice where you focus in game. But an early mid player can not progress everything at once and has not been able to since I joined 6 years ago.
