As a labelled "less than mid game player", this game isn't as F2P as you think. Take it from someone on the other side, all the events with good rewards are being locked behind all the brand new shiny marquees, conquests and legendaries.

Disagree. This is the most f2p friendly game I have ever played...oh, wait, I've already had this conversation with you, so I'll stop wasting my time trying to explain it to you again

Judging by your forum account, I would say you've been playing for at least 8 years. So end game player, right? Yes, this game was very F2P friendly for the first year or so of having it, but has leaned more towards whaling in recent times with the LSBs and all the shiny new marquees that are needed for these events with all the good rewards. I expect it's much easier to be F2P when you're already a late game player, having a great crystal income and stockpiles of gear. But I'm just about mid-game, scraping for crystals, zetas and Kyrotech, and it's impossible for me to even consider any of these new events without opening up my wallet.
It goes beyond "you're not going to get this character at a great place because it's new", because that's fair enough, but when those same characters are required for any of the events with good rewards, it's a real struggle for midgame players who are sitting between the point of "I have massive stockpiles of crystals and gear" and "welcome to the game, we'll give you a bunch of stuff to get you going"

It is possible to slow farm FTP at mid game and get good rewards for the rosters progress. Many end game players have alternative FTP accounts. So we know both economies well. The problem is when newer players want the rewards being introduced for end game players now. The raid is the only event which hinges on if you chase the latest release or not, earlier accounts should not be too concerned if they are not achieving as high as more advanced guilds. But it seems you want to compete with players who are chasing all the new releases, they can do so because they have everything else. Which is why they need something to chase to still enjoy the game. Raid rewards scale decently, and it’s absolute choice where you focus in game. But an early mid player can not progress everything at once and has not been able to since I joined 6 years ago.
